"Teal Crane's exuberant, out-of-the box concert made the audience the fourth musician, hooting strange sounds in rhythm, filling wine glasses with water, and doling out which intervals, notes or beats that each musician could play on their gorgeous drums, french horn and flute. A highlight was an audience nursery rhyme suggestion that led to a dark, improvised tale of Humpty Dumpty in Manhattan's Central Park accompanied by instruments. It evoked the terror of the primordial Amazon, a macabre circus, and concluded with a phrase suggesting that Dumpty's end involved a New York State of Mind. A concert like no other!"

"We loved it! Your improv concert was very lighthearted, freeform, and very kid-accessible. You did a good job of keeping the audience interested, because we never knew what was coming next. Three outstanding musicians and composers with wildly creative imaginations and engaging senses of humor. More, more, more!"
The Wong Family
"True musical collaboration from the opening improvisation to the final rotation of accompanists, this concert was a joy to experience. Bravo for incorporating two original compositions and even enlisting the help of one of the composers completing a stage managing task to support your story line! Wonderful variety of repertoire in your programming."

"Spectacular event! Fantastic music with talented musicians playing horn, flute, marimbas and more – along with a clever and entertaining storyline. A concert for all ages and one not to be missed – a definite crowd pleaser!"

"It was a totally engaging performance art evening, beginning to end: from the drum circle to the varied instrumentations to the premiers of new works. Obviously, you are all consummate professional musicians - I was jaw-droppingly in awe during Gardner's Singapore Suite and loved the Cole Porter adaptation. Bravo! Brava! - hope to hear more from this trio."

"I loved the fact that the concert was very unique, from concept to instrumentation to the world-premier pieces. I especially loved the sounds of the percussion instruments - sounds I rarely hear in most music out there. I can always count on Daniel and the gang to provide a one-of-a-kind entertainment that brings a smile to my face :-)"

"Tribal Beginnings concert. Very entertaining. Great variety of pieces with unique combinations of sounds. A discovery concert."

"Such fun! Made me proud to be one of Daniel’s friends and put a bee in my bonnet to make sure I attend more live music. The drum circle at the beginning, I didn’t want it to end. I also really enjoyed how much fun the alphorn is for kids."

"The concert you, Jim and Fei put on was really great and thank you again for playing my piece on it, it's been a little while since I've been to a concert of one of my own works so thank you. For me, I was expecting great playing and that happened so the thing that stood out about the concert as being different was how entertaining it was beyond just an art/intellectual level. It was just really fun, and I would say that it was fun for people of all ages. My wife said it reminded her of a Blue Lake concert (many of those are designed to be both fun for students and also be full of culture/art, etc). So I think this is really what made the concert great. This was even a greater accomplishment when you consider how few "Bach to Brahms" works were on the concert and that much of the music was 20th-21st century. The variety was great, the in between "theatrics" was great, it wasn't a concert really, it was a show but a smart one, it was great. Your piece was great too, my wife said it was her favorite (I had to convince her she wasn't obligated to say that mine was her favorite) and it was probably my favorite too, though that Singapore Suite was really nice as well. But the program in general was full of great selections, everything was interesting really (probably the least exciting work was the Mozart, so that says something)."

"I enjoyed the concert. The best and strongest part was your use of humor to get your points across. I think that you connected well with listeners of all ages. The program was well balanced. My personal favorite was the Brahms medley."
